  The Williams Prairie Baptist Church was organized on June 15, 1861, with 28 charter members. The building was built in 1865, and one may still see the original oak logs that the church house was built upon from the basement that was added under the church house in 1957. In August, 2003, the building was deemed a total loss as a result of a 12 year old arsonist catching the structure on fire. However, the remaining few members had the building fully restored as a testament to their belief in its historical significance and its religious testimony to the community.
